Yay, I got something coloured!!! So I've been working on this off and on since I done the sketch and I kept leaving it cause the tiger was going absolutely horrible, until I found this amazing fur tutorial and it just worked out brilliantly. Apart from his lil back feet I think it worked wonders. He's so fluffy and cute X3
This totally put my laptop to the test though, it was freezing literally everytime I saved and I kept my fingers crossed for the 5 or so minutes it worked that it wouldn't just have a fit and close on me and wipe it all. Haven't had a pic do that in a while but the background just wasn't co-operating with the save cause of all the different layers.
I wasn't actually gonna bother with lineart for the background, I was just gonna do some kind of garden but the more I thought about it the more I wanted something like a Sohma house in the estate to be in there so I looked through the manga volume 2 where Tohru first visits and Momiji meetes her and there's a pic there that this was based on.
The fence there looked terrible when I was doing it, I was seriously telling anyone who happened to come into my room that I was working on the Fugly Fence That Couldn't, apparently it's the cousin of the Little Engine That Could XDD
The banner was a last minute thing with it being tiger print, it was just orange but then nothing was shading the way I wanted it to and it was driving me mad and finally after throwing lil a million different textures on and failing I put the stripes on and I think it looks really cool.
So yeah, not much else to say. Hope you guys like it, sorry for my rambling artists comment, although I'd think you guys might be used to me doing this in most of my pics
EDIT: whoops, here's the tutorial: [link] by
i love the tiger!!!
Happy Year of the Tiger, comrades!
This is really awesome. You've done a good job on the colouring. Everything looks great ^^ the background is brill, especially the grass, rocks and bushes. And that lil' tiger is just adorable love how you've done his fur, it looks so soft and fuzzy ^__^
Thanks so much ^_^ I'm so glad you like the background, I feel like this is one of my first backgrounds that actually feels like it's real and the rocks I absolutely love. Think I got a better feel of them being rocks and not just big smooth pebbles or something. The fur was so much easier than I thought thanks to the tutorial on the brush setting I found, I was so not looking forward to drawing every single hair, the brush was amazing and I can see myself using it many times in the future.
Aaawwww! That is sooo cute! And your fur looks good! I'm really touched that you credited my tutorial! I'm glad I could help, but you've got plenty of talent of your own!
Thanks so much ^_^ Hopefully once I try out the brush some more I'll get it looking better, I'm sure there are some places I totally didn't follow the way the fur was meant to go No problem about creditting it, more people should learn how to do it and how awesome you are for figuring it out. I was really not looking forward to drawing every, individual hair on his lil body. ^///^ thanks
